A Comparison between Two Statistical Methods for Gear Tooth Root Bending Strength Estimation Starting from Pulsator Data

چکیده

Due to their cost-effectiveness, pulsator tests are widely adopted as a testing methodology for the investigation of effects material and heat surface treatment on gear strength with respect tooth root fatigue fracture. However, since no meshing contact is present in tests, there differences between test case real-world application scenario where gears rotating under load. Those related both statistical phenomena. Over years, several methodologies have been developed order handle this problem. This article summarizes them proposes first comparison. complete comparison different estimation has conducted so far. aims partially cover gap, by presenting comparing proposed literature then via deeper two elaboration methodologies. methodologies, which examined same rig configuration, also discussed detail. The performed based an actual database composed 1643 data points from case-hardened gears, divided into 76 experimental campaigns. Good agreement estimated strengths was found. make further considerations about one methodology, providing additional validation defining specimen numerosity required.

Statistical Analysis Methods for the fMRI Data

Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is a safe and non-invasive way to assess brain functions by using signal changes associated with brain activity. The technique has become a ubiquitous tool in basic, clinical and cognitive neuroscience. This method can measure little metabolism changes that occur in active part of the brain. We process the fMRI data to be able to find the parts of br...

A Comparison between Two Statistical Relational Models

Statistical Relational Learning has received much attention this last decade. In the ILP community, several models have emerged for modelling and learning uncertain knowledge, expressed in subset of first order logics. Nevertheless, no deep comparisons have been made among them and, given an application, determining which model must be chosen is difficult. In this paper, we compare two of them,...

Tooth-size discrepancy: A comparison between manual and digital methods

INTRODUCTION Technological advances in Dentistry have emerged primarily in the area of diagnostic tools. One example is the 3D scanner, which can transform plaster models into three-dimensional digital models. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess the reliability of tooth size-arch length discrepancy analysis measurements performed on three-dimensional digital models, and compare these measure...

Bending strength simulation of asymmetric involute tooth gears

In order to enhance the load capacity of gears, researchers take notice in the asymmetric tooth gears. Asymmetric gear which has higher pressure angle of back tooth aiming to improve banding strength has been analyzed (Deng, et al., 2003). Brown et al. (Brown, et al., 2010) investigate the asymmetric tooth from both point of view of bending and scuffing. Kruger et al. (Kruger et al., 2013) anal...
